Welcome to the first tribute/fan group on tumblr dedicated to TNA Knockout Daffney. This Scream Queen has been screamin' since 1999 when she first came into the wrestling business after responding to a World Championship Wrestling (WCW) contest as they looked for new talent. Well they couldn't pass up that opportunity and gave Shannon Spruill the chance to bring life into the already made up character of Daffney. The gimmick was based in part on Mallory Knox, the character played by Juliette Lewis in the film Natural Born Killers. However Shannon had her own twist and Daffney was spiced up with a bit of Harley Quinn inspiration. At that moment she was clearly just seen as a manager for David Flair and later Crowbar with little in-ring action but still managed to draw a crowd with her high pitched screaming while standing outside the ring. Not to mention her constant hair changing with the bright colored wigs as well as her shirts with various sayings. Though many loved the gothic beauty she was let go from WCW on February 2, 2001 due to budget cutbacks and the company was bought by WWF a month later. After that she decided to stay within the wrestling community and began training at Dusty Rhode's training camp in Georgia. After that she continued her career in the independent circuit even appearing in TNA's early days as Shannon and Shark Girl as well in Ring of Honor as Lucy Furr. However in July 2003 big opportunity came knocking as she was signed a deal by WWE and began working in OVW as a manager for Aaron Stevens. Sadly she was released in December 17, 2003. From then on she decided to retire from professional wrestling once being released and sold her boots to then-roomate Mickie James. During that time she worked as a personal trainer and even posed for a website owned by wrestling divas Missy Hyatt and Francine. Just as the world thought they'd seen the last of her a return came and in 2006 as she joined an indy company by the name of Women's Extreme Wrestling (WEW) and not to mention wrestled in various other indy events. That of which lead to her come back in April 2007 as Daffney in Shimmer. Though originally planning to remain a manager as she started out, the wrestling part of her wasn't done and she went back and forth with the Daffney and Shark Girl character. Finally the opportunity she'd been waiting for came true and in June 2008 she had what seemed a one time deal with TNA when she appeared in a challenge to beat Awesome Kong. However soon she re-appeared in December of that year as "The Governor" which placed her in a fued with The Beautiful People while tagging with Taylor Wilde and Roxxi. As the fued continued to unfold with both parties getting their fair share in, it seems TBP got the last laugh...or so they thought. After they made the mistake of cutting "The Governor's" hair, something happened, it triggered her to where she came back as Daffney. From then on the newly formed 'Zombie Hot' Daffney continued to go after Taylor Wilde who had ditched her and in the process became the patient of Dr.Stevie. From that moment on her and Dr.Stevie were an interesting pair, both psycho and mentally insane, but also sneaky and very determined to come out ontop in whoever crossed their paths such as Abyss, Taylor Wilde and Mick Foley. Also later on they were joined here and there by Raven who helped top things off and stir up some trouble as well. As Daffney's character became darker and more intense so did her matches and during those times in TNA she'd brought up the notch for the TNA knockouts taking bigger risks than most women, even if it caused injury, which led to a tack match and at one point being thrown off the top rope into a cardboard wrapped with barbed wire which lead to a badly bruised arm and concussion. Needless to say she was something big for TNA and after going solo she got in a fued with the then current TNA knockout champion, Tara, but only ended defeated. The fued was vanished for some reason and from then on Daffney wasn't on TV as much and had very little matches and still to this day it's the same. So what is left for her? The one knockout who has proved to be worth it to the point of putting her life on the line has gotten so little in return. Many hope to see her in a fued which leads to a championship, what do you think? Either way this is not the end of Daffney and we've yet to see what all she is capable of.
